SELEUKID KINGS. Antiochos I Soter, 281-261 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 29 mm, 17.11 g, 4 h), Antiochia on the Orontes. Diademed head of Antiochos I to right. Rev. ΒAΣΙΛΕΩΣ - ANTIOXOY Apollo seated left on omphalos, holding arrow in his right hand and resting his left on grounded bow; in field to outer left, monogram. Le Rider, Antioche, 16-27 (A4/-). SC 335.4c. WSM 957. Beautifully toned and with a magnificent reverse. Minor scuff on the obverse edge, otherwise, good very fine.

From the Basileiai Hellēnikai Collection of Exceptional Tetradrachms and from the collection of W. Weise, Künker 347, 22 March 2021, 767 (with collector's ticket), previously privately acquired from Spink London in March 1987 (with dealer's ticket).
